Staff

The Centre’s staff comprises of two fulltime professionals and a support staff member. Our staff is augmented by local, regional and international associates for specific projects; usually working with 2 to 5 associates (depending on the project portfolio). Brief résumés of our fulltime staff are presented below.

 

picture jaapDr. Jaap Arntzen is a specialist in environment economics and sustainable development. Having worked in the private sector (for more than 15 years) and at universities in Botswana and The Netherlands (20 years), he has a wealth of experience in research, consultancies and training. He has considerable experience in managing large, multidisciplinary project teams. He has lived and worked in Southern Africa for 30 years.

picture mphoMr. Bernard Kelebang is an agricultural/resource economist, who joined the Centre in January 2018. He holds an M.Sc degree (Environmental Science & Economics) and a BA degree in Agricultural Economics. He has worked as a research assistant in 2016 and 2017 at BUAN and CAR. His areas of expertise include agricultural and resource economics, sustainable development and economic/resource modelling.

picture kutloMrs. Kutlo Batshabeng works as receptionist/ administrative assistant at the Centre since April 2015. She hosts the CAR reception, carries out secretarial duties, offers logistical support for consulting projects and manages the CAR library.

Project associates are drawn from its local, regional and global networks, including Europe, USA, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Our associates cover a wide range of expertise, as required for CAR projects.
